4RFM Community Radio is the only radio station in Moranbah. It has grown from humble beginnings as youth radio in 1998 to today where it has a diverse range of the community involved in all aspects of keeping the radio on air. It broadcasts throughout Moranbah, Dysart, Coppabella, Nebo and surrounding mine sites and rural communities. All of its DJ's are volunteers who range in ages from the very young to the very mature. It offers a diverse range in music as each DJ brings with them their own flavour and listening audience. 4RFM is the voice of the community promoting local events, happenings and news through its ‘The Grapevine' notices while working closely with clubs, groups, organisations and businesses. 4RFM also runs a youth program, Project Y, offering youth alternative learning programs and also opportunities for work experience for students interested in a career in media and communications.
