Activismo Travesti Trans

https://www.youtube.com/@ActivismoTrans
CARRILCHE, transvestite activism, is a self-managed media that emerged in Argentina as a YouTube channel dedicated to documenting and preserving stories of the transvestite, trans* and non-binary community of Argentina and Latin America from a plurinational vision. Through testimonies, news, and the dissemination of public policies, this space seeks to make visible the struggles and problems of this historically persecuted community. In 2021, CARRILCHE expanded its reach to Instagram, where it shares content open to the LGBTTIQNB+ community. The preservation of archival material and memories of members of the community is essential for this group, especially to bear witness to the persecution that transvestites and trans* people have suffered throughout Argentine history. On its channel, you can find interviews conducted by its members, coverage of marches and events, and historical material, such as speeches in the Senate in defense of the Gender Identity Law. CARRILCHE is part of the Argentine Community Cinema Network (RACC), using community cinema as a social tool to make the trans community visible and highlight its projects and skills. In 2023, the collective was selected to work on collaborative projects with WikiMedia Argentina, and has the support of associations such as Futuro Trans. Additionally, he collaborates on research with Pj DiPietro, director of LGBT Studies at Syracuse University, New York.
