Africa Media Australia (AMA) is an African-led media company and advocacy organization serving African communities in Australia. The organization provides media platforms for community storytelling, conducts advocacy work, offers event and project management consultancy, and hosts award programs in Australia for the African diaspora.
The organization operates with dual focus: as a media company enabling African communities to share their stories and perspectives, and through advocacy work advancing the interests of Africans in Australia while promoting multicultural harmony. AMA works to strengthen socio-cultural and economic connections between Australia and Africa through information, education, and events.
AMA also provides consultancy services in event and project management, facilitating networking opportunities, business activities, cultural festivals, conferences, community engagement programs, and training initiatives. The organization has hosted the Victorian-African Community Awards since 2013 and established the annual National African Australian Person Of The Year (NAPOTY) award program.
Africa Media Australia collaborates with government bodies, universities, private companies, community groups, and business associations on projects focused on African communities in Australia and connections with the African continent.
