Al3omk (Al-Omk Al-Maghribi) is an independent Moroccan digital newsroom established in 2015 and based in Rabat. Publishing primarily in Arabic with a dedicated French edition, it covers national politics, public policy, social issues, the economy, culture and the Moroccan diaspora. The outlet’s publishing director, journalist Mohamed Laghrouss, articulates a mission centered on free expression, accuracy and accountability, reflected in an editorial charter that commits to human dignity, civil liberties and responsible journalism.
Al3omk reports daily news and produces interviews, analysis and opinion, supplemented by field video reporting under the Al3omk TV banner. Its network includes Al3omk Sport, a sports desk covering domestic leagues and national teams, and Houria, a magazine focused on women and family. True to its name—“depth”—the newsroom makes a point of reporting from the “deep Morocco,” highlighting marginalized communities and local development concerns alongside national decision-making.
The outlet has been recognized within Morocco’s digital media sphere: it won the 12th Maroc Web Awards in 2019 in the news website category, and has repeatedly been listed among the country’s most visited news platforms. In recent years it has expanded professional capacity through partnerships, including a 2025 memorandum with ARIJ to strengthen investigative journalism training. Al3omk positions itself as “the voice of Moroccans,” aiming its coverage at readers across the country and abroad who seek fact-based reporting, debate and civic engagement.
