Space on social networks created by Dr. Katherine Calderón to verify information and myths about the world of medicine. According to its founder: Ampicillina500 emerged in December 2018 inspired by similar assignments that were given to my Epidemiology students. My cohort at that time liked doing it and asked me why I didn't do something but in the long term. With a lot of uncertainty as to whether the project was going to "stick", I started it and look how we are doing!⠀⠀🤓Why does Ampicillina500 exist? Because I understand that there is an important knowledge gap in health and prevention issues, for which social networks can be of immense help. Now, Ampicillin500 is not a substitute for a medical consultation, it is not a self-diagnosis manual and no medical consultations are offered here. Guidance will always go to consult with your specialist if you think you are sick and need help.⠀⠀👩⚕️And who is behind Ampicillina500? Yours truly, Katherine Calderón. I graduated in medicine from @PUCMM, Santiago campus and did my internship at the Luis M. Morillo King Hospital in La Vega. After this, for four years I was part of the faculty at my alma mater and there I also became involved as a member of the research department. I am also part of two Bioethics Committees and from the university, I actively collaborate with two NGOs that work, among various things, on health issues in vulnerable sectors (@BarnabasTask and @compassion). At the same time, it also offered general medicine consultations to complement academic practice. I am currently doing my medical specialty in a health center in Cibao. ⠀⠀📚The purpose of this space is to stimulate critical thinking, healthy debate, improve knowledge about health and diseases and promote positive changes in our habits, all through education, based on good evidence.⠀
