The website BorneBoeit, which has been online since May 2013, was an initiative of the local partnership of entrepreneurs Bundeling Bornse Ondernemers (BBO) in Borne. The reason for creating a digital platform was that the existing media barely covered the Borne municipality.

With the website's launch, the BBO, supported by a dozen founders, set two objectives: the digital platform had to contribute to Borne's visibility, and BorneBoeit was supposed to function as a binding factor for the "Borne family", the municipality's population. After a successful start-up period, the BorneBoeit Foundation took over the supervision of the website from the BBO.

The platform publishes local news, sports news, photos of local events, a jobs board, regional information services, and a section about local business owners.

In 2021, the website was visited over two million times. BorneBoeit also has a substantial presence on social media: the news platform has 14,000 followers on Facebook alone.

On August 2020, BorneBoeit was designated as the local public media institution for the municipality of Borne by the Media Authority.
