Centar Za Istraživačko Novinarstvo (Cin)

https://cin.ba/

The Centar za istraživačko novinarstvo - CIN (in English: Centre for Investigative Reporting) investigates organised crime and corruption and its effects on the lives of ordinary citizens. CIN works on investigative projects on education, health, sports, employment, politics, illegal trading in tobacco and drugs, illicit documents, and financial fraud.

CIN was founded in 2004 with a USAID grant and support from the New York University School of Journalism and the Journalism Development Group. CIN stories are published on major media outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans.

CIN is a founding member of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which brings together independent reporters and organisations in Southeastern Europe and Central Asia to produce investigative journalism projects. CIN produces documentaries and videos to support its investigative articles. These are broadcasted through public and independent TV stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Its work is funded through grants from international donors. The intention is to develop a sustainable journalism platform that attracts revenues to cover part of its organisational expenses.

Over the years, CIN has been granted multiple national and international journalism awards from organisations such as the ACCOUNT Anticorruption Network and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.
