The Center for Investigative Journalism (CPI) is an independent, non-profit entity, founded in 2007, to promote access to information in Puerto Rico through three avenues: investigative journalism, litigation and journalistic training.
The CPI was created by two renowned journalists, Omaya Sosa Pascual and Oscar J. Serrano, with a philosophy different from that of traditional media. As indicated in its history, the CPI is not driven by commercial or political interests, but rather operates with donations from institutions and citizens who share its vision of civic empowerment and respect its verticality.
