Comadre Podcast

Comadre is an independent media that seeks to contribute, through quality content, to the construction of a more equitable society. The podcast invites us to reflect on the political nature of parenting and provides valuable information with a gender perspective, supported by the perspective of experts who provide audios on different topics that affect motherhood. In a social context where mandates that impose motherhood still persist, the Comadre podcast has generated a vital space to question these stereotypes and promote the recognition of the rights of mothers to live their motherhood in a free and joyful way. Through episodes such as “Respectful Parenting”, “Perinatal Mental Health”, “Unwanted Motherhood”, “Respected Childbirth”, “Stepfamilies”, “Adoption”, “Climate and Confusion”, “Motherhood and Disability”, among many others, they make visible the realities of diverse motherhoods, such as chosen single motherhood, motherhood in popular neighborhoods, and the experiences of queer families, which allows us to understand the deeply political nature of motherhood. and its intersection with various social and cultural problems. The Comadre project has evolved from being a podcast to a platform for activism, discussion and training around women's rights and motherhood. Although it began as a conversation space in podcast format, today it encompasses a variety of activities that include face-to-face talks, discussions and training. These initiatives seek to take podcast discussions to a more interactive level, allowing people to share their experiences and learn together.
