CONNECTAS has become a reference in Latin America for investigative journalism, for the commitment it makes to collaboration to produce in-depth stories that help expose the abuses of power, and for the analyzes that allow us to improve the understanding of relevant events in the hemisphere. As a journalistic initiative, it has the mission of promoting the exchange of information on key issues for the development of the Americas, creating for its members of its vibrant and active #CONNECTASHub community, the conditions that allow them to do their best work and where their individual brilliance is part of something bigger. It produces journalistic content in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese, produced together with editors, media outlets, allies and with more than a hundred Member journalists in 20 countries. Its director and founder is Carlos Eduardo Huertas, and it began in 2012 during his stay at Harvard University under the Nieman Scholarship that was supported by the Knight Foundation. Its advisory committee is made up of Rosental Calmon Alves, June Carolyn Erlick and Giannina Segnini. CONNECTAS has technological platforms that include multimedia developments.
