Contrapunto. Diario Digital

http://www.contrapunto.com.sv/
ContraPunto emerged as a magazine to deal with Latin American political and social phenomena. The project was based in Quito, Ecuador. However, in 2008, he took a turn and became a Salvadoran midfielder. The idea of being a Latin American magazine did not come to fruition, it had been an overly ambitious plan. Since 2008 the project headed towards transforming into a daily publication and began to incorporate local editors (Salvadorans), mostly young university students or recent graduates. A video production platform was also created. In 2010 the transition to a daily broadcast medium was completed. ContraPunto was born as a space made up of journalists. Unlike other media, Diario Digital ContraPunto has never had ownership ties with business, political or social groups. Currently Diario Digital ContraPunto has established itself as one of the main digital media in El Salvador and is becoming increasingly important in the Central American region. It is a plural, independent and critical press medium, with enormous links with organized civil society and based on it. ContraPunto addresses, in its journalistic coverage, issues of politics, human rights, environment, economy, citizen security and gender equality. It is also one of the few media that gives voice to the demands of the LGBTI community, as well as other excluded sectors.
