Convoca is a non-profit investigative journalism organization based in Lima, committed to the production and dissemination of permanent, reliable, truthful and quality information and analysis on systems and facts related to power networks, corruption and violation of fundamental rights in Peru and Latin America that affect people's lives and their development. We contribute to the strengthening of citizen surveillance through journalistic practice and massive data analysis. Their efforts to do high-quality journalism have led them to work and participate in several international investigations such as "FinCEN Files" and "Bribery Division"; and coordinate collaboration projects with local reporters in Peru and Latin America. Convoca.pe's work has been recognized with more than 16 national and international awards for its work in investigative journalism and the use of data. Among his most notable recognitions is the Award for Journalistic Excellence from the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA), received on 4 occasions for revelations of public impact related to environmental issues and cases of corruption. In addition, Convoca has received the Sigma Awards (2021), Data Journalism Award (2016), among other recognitions for its innovative work with databases in environmental investigations, exposing environmental violations and liabilities of mining and oil in Peru and the region. The Convoca Deep Data platform, which uses massive data analysis to make public information about extractive industries accessible, has been a pillar in these awards. Its work is characterized by being multidisciplinary and by the use of new technologies that allow greater and better access to quality information in various innovative formats aimed at various sectors of society, mainly the most vulnerable. It also holds workshops, various training spaces and conferences, through Escuela Convoca, to strengthen journalistic investigation in various regions of Peru and Latin American countries. It has a management model independent of economic and political interests.
