El Deportero is an independent online sports media that was born on August 15, 2008. It is owned by Empresa Periodística El Deportero Comunicaciones SPA. Its objective is to disseminate high-performance and federated sports in Chile, mainly those disciplines with less or no diffusion in the country's traditional media. It is currently made up of a single person and work is being done to add new sources of income, along with a new approach to the medium, with more interviews and opinion columns.
