El Desconcert is an independent medium, it is broadly inscribed in social unrest and the desire for change, but it does not ascribe to any specific political identity. They carry out reports, columns, research, interviews, chronicles and cultural criticism. It has a pluralistic sense from an explicit inscription of a critical nature, committed to social justice in a broad perspective, mainly connected to issues of Education, Social Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity, Freedom of Expression, Transparency, Corruption, Culture, Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples. The mission is to highlight the issues of national and regional affairs from politics; economy and entrepreneurship; trends and networks; opinion; reports; common goods; culture; international and recreational life, all areas in which its journalistic team works committed, day by day, to the rigor, impartiality and pluralism that encourages the exercise of independent journalism for the defense of democracy. To make this media sustainable they have launched the 'Become a Partner' campaign whose purpose is to co-create a more critical and purposeful community of readers who wish to participate collaboratively. In recent years they have been finalists for the Journalistic Excellence Award of the Alberto Hurtado University.
