Emedia is a Senegalese news organization built around a 24/7 digital newsroom and a portfolio of broadcast and print outlets. Created in 2018 by journalists Mamoudou Ibra Kane, Alassane Samba Diop, Boubacar Diallo and Mamadou Ndiaye, the group publishes breaking news and in‑depth reporting on politics, the economy, justice, culture and sport. Its digital outlet Emedia.sn is complemented by iRadio and iTV, a generalist television channel that began broadcasting on Senegal’s TNT platform (channel 15) in May 2019. In December 2021 the group expanded into print with Bès Bi Le Jour, a daily newspaper that adds front‑page headlines and enterprise reporting to its cross‑platform coverage.
Editorially, Emedia targets a broad public in Senegal and the diaspora, leaning on live reporting, studio interviews and explanatory formats to follow national developments and major African stories. The brands reinforce one another—radio morning shows set the day’s agenda, television carries live debate and special events, and the digital newsroom publishes fast updates and video clips.
Since May 2023 the group has been led by Director General Alassane Samba Diop; in October 2024 Boubacar “DJ Boubs” Diallo became director of iTV. The company’s founders came out of Groupe Futurs Médias, bringing newsroom experience and a competitive stance within Dakar’s crowded market. With integrated operations spanning web, radio, television and print, Emedia positions itself as a multi‑platform source of Senegalese news with nationwide reach.
