Founded in 2017, Emerge Mag was conceived as an intersectional digital magazine focused on debating culture and creative initiatives for low-income young people and people belonging to minorities in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region. Its aim was to "break with the colonial logic present in the corporate media", which tells the stories of black and LGBTQIAP+ people from a classist, white and heteronormative perspective.
