Island Communication Space, a communication institution committed to promoting and strengthening political, social, economic, and cultural relations between the people of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, who share the island of Quisqueya. Espacinsular works from a comprehensive and participatory perspective, respecting human rights and the environment, promoting insular communication management that channels the concerns of the social sectors, civil society and organizations of both countries that seek to create a bridge of agile, current, impartial and prejudice-free information. As a means of electronic communication we promote the elimination of racial and discriminatory attitudes in Haitian and Dominican societies. We aspire for the right to communication to be recognized in both nations. We believe that it is necessary for governments to stimulate the development of communication networks together with the organized sectors of civil society and independent groups aimed at creating greater opportunities and access to information for the majority of our populations, our excluded inhabitants. We assume the commitment that another communication, alternative, service, participatory and democratic, is still possible.
