Feminacida is a media outlet and self-managed collective that is dedicated to daily coverage of reality from a feminist, popular, federal and human rights perspective. Since its inception on March 8, 2018, its main objective has been to make visible, disseminate and investigate the rights, claims, needs and history of the women's movement and dissidents in Latin America. Feminacida's approach is reflected in the production of high-quality journalistic and educational material, seeking alternative, respectful and violence-free approaches. Its work actively promotes gender equality and provides tools for more fair, democratic and responsible communication. The medium carries out daily coverage of current events, presenting reality from a popular, feminist and human rights perspective, through its news portal. In addition, it offers workshops at its Training School, addressing topics such as journalism, communication, Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE), sports, photography, among others. Feminacida also provides training and consulting for the application of the gender and diversity perspective in different work spaces, including companies, organizations and institutions. In this way, they seek to promote the practical implementation of tools to promote equality and respect. Additionally, the collective undertakes communication campaigns to plan and create content with the purpose of transmitting specific messages in line with its feminist and human rights approach. They use different platforms, and recently began streaming on Twitch. They define themselves as "a medium and collective committed to promoting an inclusive and respectful view in communication, providing a voice to the struggles and realities of the women's movement and dissidents in Latin America." In 2021, it was selected within the first cohort of GNI Startups Lab Hispanoamérica, a program of SembraMedia and Google News Initiative, which consisted of an accelerator of independent digital media in Spanish to support the development of journalistic ventures and promote the personal growth of its members.
