Fogo Cruzado Institute has developed its own innovative methodology for monitoring shootings in urban centers and their impacts. Since it was founded in 2016, it has produced more than 20 unprecedented indicators on armed violence in the metropolitan regions of Rio de Janeiro and Recife, and soon in more Brazilian cities. Through a cell phone app, Fogo Cruzado receives and makes available information on shootings and gunfire.
