Foundation for Investigative Journalism Nigeria

The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation founded by ‘Fisayo Soyombo in June 2020 that combats injustice, holds power to account and speaks for the voiceless. FIJ seeks to uncover the truth by bypassing officialdom and neutralizing propaganda, making it accessible to the public to influence their everyday decision making. Their mission is to free audiences from vested interests and propagandists who manipulate information to the detriment of public interest. Through investigative works, FIJ aims to free the powerless from oppressors, assist the helpless to get justice, hold government accountable, strengthen democracy, and advance society. Their vision is to use journalism as a tool for bettering Nigeria by raising a new generation of journalists valuing integrity over financial gain.
