Open Wounds is an independent medium that generates and disseminates journalistic works that focus on the rescue, preservation and visibility of memory, that is, the historical events that have formed our identity and that mark the ways we have of relating in community. Many times some events go unnoticed or without the importance they deserve, other times they are framed in the Official History, without taking into account other perspectives and other realities. We believe in memory as a tool to generate dialogue and promote a more dignified life in society. Therefore, through our journalistic practice (notes, chronicles, interviews, profiles, articles and reports), on topics of forced disappearance, torture, migration, civil and peasant struggles and resistance, and other topics related to the violence experienced in our country and with Human Rights, we tell stories that seek to generate impact and reflection in the community of La Laguna and northern Mexico. The Open Wounds portal project was completed in 2021, during the pandemic due to covid-19. In its first years, various collaborators have joined, such as journalists, activists, graphic artists, writers and other people interested in promoting memory.
