Infodemia: term formed by the words information and epidemic to refer, according to the Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundeú), to the “overabundance of information (some rigorous and some false) on a topic.”
We are the first Salvadoran media agency that is dedicated to the verification of public discourse and content, to research, innovation and literacy in technological environments to promote transparency and plurality.
Infodemia's activities are governed by international verification standards (fact-checking, in English), data journalism and the deontological principles embodied in the Code of Ethics of the Association of Journalists of El Salvador (APES) and the recommendations of the Journalism Ethics Network of the Gabo Foundation.
