Jornal de Taguatinga, in the Federal District, originated as a print media outlet more than 20 years ago. In 2015, when the government cut funding for the newspaper, founder Malu Silva decided to extinguish the print version and launched the news website.
The initiative is focused on local coverage of Taguatinga and official bodies located in the Federal District. The site does not cover the police. Malu is nicknamed Grandma Blogger because she likes the internet. She has another site for women and women in politics.
Jornal de Taguatinga was redesigned in 2023 and is now a news portal.
