KecsUP strives to present events and news related to Kecskemét that are important for the local population. It is published by Áramlat Foundation.

By 2024, KecsUP.hu has become the most influential independent online news provider in the Kecskemét/Bács-Kiskun region of Central Hungary. KecsUP.hu places a strong emphasis on covering organizations and institutions funded by public money, as well as critically analyzing influential political figures and groups—whether government-affiliated or opposition—while maintaining equal distance from all political parties. KecsUP.hu does not receive funding from any political party, nor are any of its full-time or freelance staff employed by political parties or elected to local or national parliamentary institutions.

Since its founding, KecsUP.hu has been actively seeking, analyzing, and highlighting public affairs and issues raised by grassroots community groups or individuals in the local society. They strive to provide coverage and a public platform for constructive and pragmatic issues and proposals across various domains, including: deteriorating local public services; poor living conditions in suburban areas; unsustainable urban transportation; the negative impacts of climate change; oversight of public funds; destruction of green spaces; and possible responses to these challenges from citizens, experts, and local government representatives.

The publisher of KecsUP.hu is the Áramlat Foundation, a grassroots community organization founded and operated by private individuals. In addition to professional journalism, their goals include civic and critical media education, benefiting both newsroom team members and readers. The team believes that simply reading the news is not enough—understanding the broader context is crucial. Therefore, they encourage readers to ask questions, engage in discussions, debate issues, and share their opinions on the news. At the heart of editorial policy is the commitment to unbiased, well-researched reporting and analysis on political, economic, and cultural issues in Hungary and the wider world, with a special focus on the European Union. The team also publishes critical analyses, essays, and commentaries on social, political, and cultural matters.
