Kutaisipost is an independent online multimedia publication, covering current events in Georgia's Kutaisi and Imereti regions.Kutaisipost was founded in 2014 by a team of reporters that previously worked at the New Gazette newspaper. Due to creative differences with the management, the reporters left the newspaper but kept the collective together and co-founded a new digital media outlet to bring new ideas and approaches to reality. The mission of Kutaisipost is to inform society and help citizens be resilient against Russian propaganda and anti-western sentiments in the country, especially in western Georgia. The publication also aims to bring western values closer to the people."When we started, our goal was to find interesting individuals and tell human stories. However, today we face different challenges; thus, we have to adapt and prioritise different a focus in our reporting: the events that are important for the development of our country, and supporting a pro-western course," the editor Tea Zibzibadze said. Kutaisipost works in three main ways: it publishes news, analyses, and photo and video reportage to inform readers on ongoing events; it trains young professionals; and lastly, it runs a media club within the Kutaisipost office to let individuals and groups bring up important issues directly to the public.Kutaisipost has also experimented with digital products, such as a travel website that aggregates essential information for local and international tourists planning to visit the Imereti region.
