La Esquina is a digital magazine in Spanish that reports on events that occur in Kentucky and Southern Indiana for the Latino community. It seeks human stories that contribute to development in all senses of the community and gives voice to the community in real time with breaking news. It focuses on covering migration, training, and migration issues at the local as well as national level. It is a media partner of Factchequeado, a fact-checking initiative to counter disinformation in Spanish in the United States, and shares its content (fact-checks and explainers) on a regular basis. It was created by journalist, musician and artist Luis de León in Jefferson County in Kentucky. He trained as a journalist in Latin America and moved to Kentucky. He launched La Esquina with personal funds and in April 2020 he ran a crowdfunding campaign.
