La Palta, a communication collective that was born with the idea of installing a radio under an avocado tree. In 2010, the radio idea became a blog that a couple of years later migrated to a website. La Palta was the name that best identified this group of Communication Sciences students at the National University of Tucumán who were learning to do journalism.

Over time, the need arose to have an organizational structure. Cooperativism is the legal figure that contains the team to do collective and horizontal journalism. Today, at the La Palta Communication Work Cooperative, the challenge is to produce quality journalistic content with a human rights and gender perspective.

The La Palta team considers that identity and communication are inalienable rights of people and journalism should be a tool in pursuit of justice, opportunities, and inclusion. Addressing the facts and stories from that conviction, for La Palta, means highlighting the human aspect by bringing names, faces and experiences together to generate empathy, awareness and reflection. It also means accompanying social struggles to reclaim the violated rights of indigenous communities, the LGBTQI+ community, women and dissidents - with a transfeminist perspective -, children and victims of different types of institutional violence.
