La República is an Ecuadorian digital journalism portal, founded on June 7, 2011, where news from Ecuador and the world is published in real time. It is a group of professionals committed to doing serious, independent, objective and pluralistic journalism. The founder is the journalist Carlos Jijón, who won the 2015 “Eugenio Espejo” National Journalism Award awarded by the National Union of Journalists of Ecuador. Likewise, the digital newspaper won the award in the New Communication Technologies category.
