LATFEM is a digital native feminist media outlet based in Argentina. It offers a free access information service, mainly focused on Latin America and the Caribbean since its launch on March 8, 2017.
The team is made up of feminist professionals and activists, including journalists, communicators, writers, researchers, photographers, illustrators and designers. They have established a network of collaborators and correspondents in the region and founded, with the support of Oxfam, the Network of Feminist Journalists of Latin America and the Caribbean. LATFEM has achieved recognition as a unique feminist media outlet due to its regional projection.
The journalism they carry out is based on a feminist and intersectional perspective, aligned with the Ni Una Menos movement. They address gender, class and race inequalities, while embracing the activist agenda of local, regional and global feminist movements.
LATFEM offers high-quality information, including articles, coverage, videos, infographics, chronicles, investigations, podcasts and opinion pieces, political analysis, cultural criticism and commentary on art. They are committed to diversifying digital narratives.
LATFEM has organized social, cultural, political and academic events over the years. They maintain a social research team that has produced reports such as the regional chapter of "Rompiendo Moldes".
In addition to its digital content, LATFEM creates mass-circulation cultural products such as books, records and illustrations.
As part of its funding strategy, LATFEM provides training in feminist perspectives and new digital narratives to newsrooms and media outlets. They offer advisory and consulting services from a feminist perspective, including content creation, communication strategies, monitoring, research and development of protocols and guidelines for workspaces. They have collaborated with organizations such as Cels, Andhes, Oxfam, UN Women, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Ojo Paritario, Huésped Foundation, Socorristas en Red, Public Ministry of Defense of the City of Buenos Aires, Movement of Indigenous Women for Good Living, School of Feminist Witches and Socorristas en Red, among others, in promoting their work, carrying out joint research, creating content and launching campaigns.
