LatinClima is a community on the topic of climate change communication in Latin America and the Caribbean, to which communicators from the region belong, as well as experts, organizations and other networks.
It is a showcase for communicators, experts and organizations in the field to make their work known to broader audiences in Latin America. It also contains a filter on the quality of the information that is disseminated, which represents a guarantee of credibility for the members.
The objective is to position the issue of climate change in the Hispanic American public from a point of view of action both on what is possible to do to reduce greenhouse gases, which cause global warming, and to adapt to the impacts of climate change at all levels.
It also allows the presentation and monitoring of the main events on climate change in the region and the world; capacity building through virtual and in-person forums, seminars and courses; the development of journalistic initiatives and tools; and the generation, dissemination and exchange of information on climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the vision and reality of our region, beyond national borders and in the Spanish language.
The initiative has the support of the Tropical Agricultural Research and Teaching Center (CATIE); the Ministries of Environment of Costa Rica and Uruguay and the Tropical Scientific Center (CCT).
