The Libros y Letras website, online since 2003, has become a reference for literature and culture in Colombia. However, it emerged much earlier, in the 80s, in the mind and heart of a pioneer and visionary Colombian cultural manager, Jorge Consuegra, who as a journalist, manager in publishing companies and entrepreneur initially created Libros y Letras as a typewritten newsletter that he photocopied and gave to his friends and contacts. His project evolved, the website was born and in 2006 he created the Libros y Letras Cultural Foundation, whose priority is to promote, develop and disseminate all cultural expressions of Colombia and Latin America through different media. Today, these are the website, the printed magazine Libros & Letras, the Cultural News Agency, the channels on social networks and, in addition, participation or support for radio and television programs. The printed magazine, which has already circulated with 92 editions, is distributed free of charge in libraries, universities, educational centers, media, cultural foundations and public entities throughout the national territory, and is sent to novelists, poets, critics, journalists, playwrights, painters, filmmakers, columnists, students and teachers, among others. Meanwhile, the Cultural News Agency broadcasts daily news about books, cinema, painting, art, music, theater and in general all branches of Colombian and Latin American culture, and has more than 6,000 subscribers who receive its information.
