Manual Do Usuário

https://manualdousuario.net/

The Manual do Usuário (User's Manual) was launched on October 15, 2013. It began as an individual initiative by Rodrigo Ghedin, its founder, while he was still a law student. The digital initiative led him to study journalism and defined, according to him, his professional foundations for the following years.

This digital outlet was based on Jack Cheng's Slow Web, written in 2012. Due to its influence, content is posted less frequently than in other digital outlets, around two posts a day, and with more in-depth content that "takes longer" to produce. In other words, hard news is not the aim of the “Manual do Usuário” when talking about technology. The latest model of the X smartphone will not be the focus of the initiative.

On the contrary, the “Manual do Usuário” chooses to reflect on the effects of technology on human social networks and on the interaction between Internet users and the Internet. Another peculiar feature of the site is the existence and moderation of comments. As well as producing content, the platform offers space for debate on topics, with curated rules that are reviewed every two months by the readers themselves.
