MSME Africa is a Lagos-based media and enterprise development organization serving micro, small and medium businesses across the continent. Founded in 2020, it operates MSME Africa Online, a digital publication that tracks policy shifts, capital, markets and entrepreneurship. The newsroom publishes daily business updates, funding and grant alerts, calls for accelerators and fellowships, practical explainers and expert opinion aimed at helping founders make better decisions.
Beyond publishing, MSME Africa runs capacity-building and ecosystem programs through the MSME Development and Resources Company. Its team designs and delivers accelerators, bootcamps, mentorship initiatives and industry research, and convenes community events such as the MSME Festival – Conference & Awards. The organisation maintains a 7,000‑plus community of MSME founders and operators for peer learning and collaboration.
MSME Africa’s work targets MSME owners, startup founders, policymakers and development partners who need timely, actionable information. It is part of the Media Development Investment Fund’s Nigeria Media Innovation Program (NAMIP), which supports independent digital media to build sustainable operations; MDIF has profiled the outlet’s effort to build an all‑encompassing ecosystem for its audience. Recognition for its leadership includes the 2021 Entrepreneur Africa Award for Media Innovation won by founder Seye Olurotimi.
With a continent-wide scope and roots in Nigeria, MSME Africa blends reporting, opportunity curation and training to close information gaps for small businesses and support their growth.
