Muslim News Nigeria is a Lagos-based Islamic news organization founded in 2018 by journalist Rasheed Abubakar and published by Rawshield PR Media. It produces daily digital coverage and a periodic (monthly) print edition distributed free through central mosques and Islamic centres across Nigeria, with circulation in states such as Lagos, Ogun, the FCT (Abuja), Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Edo, Kano, Sokoto, Imo and Rivers. Its mission is to give sustained attention to Muslim achievements and issues often marginalized in mainstream reporting, guided by editorial values of truth and accountability (siddiq and haqq), teaching (tabligh), public interest (maslahah) and moderation (wasatiyyah). The newsroom covers national and community events, faith and education, governance and public policy, and global developments across the Muslim world, and commissions features, analysis and opinion from Nigerian Muslim scholars and journalists. The organization also convenes the annual Muslim News Nigeria Awards (#MNAwards), which spotlight leadership and service among Muslims. Notable honorees include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, named Global Muslim Personality of the Year in 2018 and 2019, a recognition that drew international coverage; Nigerian recipients have included Isa Ali Pantami (2020). Beyond routine reporting, Muslim News Nigeria hosts webinars and produces special e-editions around Ramadan and other milestones, aiming to inform, connect and amplify Muslim voices for Nigerian audiences and readers seeking context-rich coverage of Islam at home and abroad.
