Noticias Para Inmigrantes

Noticias Para Inmigrantes (NPI) is a nonprofit media organization that sits at the intersection of news, media, technology, and civic engagement. NPI combats misinformation targeting Spanish speakers by engaging immigrants directly through Facebook Messenger, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. NPI is a project of Accelerate Change and is working to dramatically increase the civic participation of Spanish-speaking Latinos in the different electoral processes in the US. NPI is a project of Wise Rock Media. NPI grew rapidly in 2020 and became a trusted media source for immigrants when the pandemic began. The pandemic and misinformation on social media greatly impacted the Latino community it serves. To combat these problems, the NPI team began writing easy-to-understand articles in Spanish about the services and aid available from the government. This allowed the NPI team to connect their community with information on resources such as food, financial and other assistance.Noticias Para Inmigrantes has digitally reached more than 40 million Latino immigrants since 2020 to educate them on topics such as public charge, government assistance, changes in immigration processes and more. Noticias Para Inmigrantes provides news for Latinos across the country, with Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, New York and Houston being the cities where the majority of its subscribers are located. With its franchise, Revolution English, it provides free English lessons to more than one million on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube to help them thrive in the US. NPI is made up of a team of fourteen professionals who work remotely. Its main income comes from subsidies from different organizations and advertising income.
