Prodavinci is a Venezuelan magazine of in-depth journalism that is committed to multidisciplinary narration, investigation and analysis of issues that transcend the news agenda and are of public interest. It was born in 2008 as a blog, became a multiplatform medium and became a primary reference for journalism in Venezuela. Its publications, with a diversity of formats, have the challenge of informing, illustrating, educating and generating reflections and impact on contemporary challenges. Under the leadership of the economist Ángel Alayón, founder and director, and the writer Oscar Marcano, director and editor, Prodavinci has transcended as a multidisciplinary journalism workshop to produce stories with rigor and narrative quality from the economy, culture, international relations, public policies, public health, education, science, environment, gender, human rights, freedom of expression, innovation, city and sports. Prodavinci mobilizes its efforts to connect journalism with education, critical thinking and the reconstruction of citizenship. Under this perspective, in 2020, Academia Prodavinci was born, its educommunication division that promotes open learning initiatives, civic education and journalism of excellence. International and national organizations have recognized Prodavinci for its outstanding writing, research, data analysis and photographic display of various stories, coverage and journalistic projects. Among more than 30 distinctions, the King of Spain International Prize for journalism in International Cooperation stands out; as well as recognitions in various editions of the Excellence Journalism Award of the Inter-American Press Association, the National Investigative Journalism Contest of the Press and Society Institute of Venezuela; the Gabo Award; the Roche Prize for Health Journalism, among others.
