Radio COCOA is a new media content creation platform that focuses on the documentation, dissemination and promotion of independent music and art from Ecuador and Latin America. They work as an experimental laboratory, constantly searching for new stories and formats to tell them from a young and fresh perspective. New Media with an Independent Spirit!Radio COCOA was born as a university online radio in 2009, under the vision of Hugo Burgos, former dean of the College of Communication and Contemporary Arts of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Together with Ana Belén Veintimilla and Miguel Loor, they decided to open a growth platform for independent musical proposals from Ecuador, given the shortage of spaces that would allow it. In its beginnings, the project was based on radio content programming, done jointly by a group of teachers and students. However, for 6 years, we have become a platform for the dissemination of the Ecuadorian musical and cultural scene, which works through the creation of multimedia content in constant renewal. The mission is to create high-quality multimedia content, from an experimental, young and fresh perspective, that disseminates and promotes the growth of the various artistic scenes of Ecuador and Latin America.
