Referente is a digital platform for citizen journalism, which publishes news and analysis information, whose content is mostly created, evaluated and shared by the same community. It was born in May 2015 in Chihuahua, Mexico, with the aim of creating an independent digital platform that would allow the user to select what type of stories and topics to follow; and encourage them to participate in the construction of collective analyzes on different news events. In Referente, each user can create their own profile and write notes that, depending on the community's evaluation and their activity as a "referent" from other users, may appear on the cover.
