In October 2021, independent journalist Timothée Vinchon created Rembobine, a fortnightly newsletter which reviews an investigation published a year earlier in the French or international press, to see what has changed since then in institutional, legal or media terms.

The initial observation that motivated the creation of the newsletter was that journalists often take some interest in a subject, but then a few months later the subject seems to disappear from the news cycle. So, the idea was to highlight such previously archived reporting, and to measure the impact of each investigation on society, to understand why it emerged, to question what has happened since, and to put it back at the heart of public debate.

This newsletter is conceived of as a reflection on the impact and rhythm of information, and as a tool for media education.

Rembobine won the prize for best editorial newsletter at the Festival de l'infolettre in February 2023. The newsletter received the Grand Prize for Independent Newsletters.

The Rembobine newsletter is free to access, and it can also be read on its website rembobine.info.

In 2020, Timothée Vinchon co-founded JS - Journalistes Solidaires, a virtual, collaborative and open fact-checking newsroom, bringing together nearly 50 journalists, experts and citizens.

He is also part of the Caravane des médias, a project led by Carmen, a non-profit organisation, in which journalists meet up with people living in rural areas of Picardy to discuss their perceptions of the media.
