Rebel Wheels. Bicycle journalism is an independent medium that talks about the right to mobility based on data and journalistic research, and tells stories of people who use the bike as a means of transportation. The bike is the pretext to know, think and narrate the place we live and the lives of its people, through profiles, interviews, chronicles, portraits and videos. We create databases from requests for information and monitoring from local media to study the conditions of road insecurity and we do research on the political and financial decisions that follow causing the streets to be unsafe for everyone, especially pedestrians and cyclists. We are interested in generating dialogue and community. We teach journalistic and literary writing workshops to girls, boys, young people and adults. We give talks and conferences on the role of journalism when talking about mobility and road safety, as well as the importance of reducing car use and promoting urban mobility alternatives. On our first anniversary we launched the campaign "A rebel arrives by bike", with the support of local businesses and chains that offered promotions to customers who arrived by bike within the framework of World Bicycle Day (April 19). We are allies and fellows of the Border Hub and members of the Media Community, with colleagues from various states of the country.Ruedas Rebeldes is a registered brand that has t-shirts, mugs, stickers and seeks to expand its line of articles with original illustrations and in collaboration with graphic artists. We are journalists, cyclists and citizens who find in cycling and journalism a way to get to know our community. We seek to find the unexpected in the daily journey.
