Să Fie Lumină

https://safielumina.ro/

Să fie lumină (in English: Let there be light) is an investigative journalism project funded by readers' donations.

A collective of journalists from four media outlets, DelaO.ro, the Centrul de Investigații Media, o Revistă, and Casa Journalistului, founded the investigative media platform. However, the initiative is currently managed by Dela0.ro and Centrul de Investigații Media

The project investigates the symbiosis between the Romanian state and the Catholic Church, how religious institutions introduce themselves in the Romanian public administration, and its public impact.

The newsroom has reported on the private affairs of the Catholic Church sustained with public money, the discretionary power of Church leaders with citizens, the systematic sexual abuses of seminary students, and religious institutions' involvement in politics and elections.

The team has published 44 investigative pieces, reports and video reports, and 16 other stories exclusively published on Facebook.
