Satori is a cultural news source founded as a critical thinking blog in 2003. It is managed by the association Ascendum.

It is now an online magazine of culture and independent thought that covers cultural events in Latvia and the world. It publishes opinions on current cultural-political and social issues; it reviews books, films, theatre performances, concerts, and art exhibitions; and it interviews writers, poets, musicians, directors, and other creative professionals.

Satori offers access to approximately 4,000 fragments of classic works of world and Latvian literature, philosophical treatises, translations, essays, and reviews.

In addition, Satori publishes regular commentary and well-known authors' blogs, and invites young writers to publish their work.

Parallel to its online publications, Satori publishes complimentary newspapers, magazines, and books in Latvian and Russian, organises literary readings and public discussions, and supports and participates in cultural and civic activities.
