Shqip.com was founded in July 2021 in the capital of Kosovo, Pristina. According to its founder and CEO, Ardian Alaj, the values of Shqip.com lie in objective journalism.Shqip.com produces diverse content in various formats, including text, audio, and video. Although it is a national media outlet, it also targets Albanian-speaking audiences in other countries in the Western Balkans. As a media outlet covering general news, it reports on politics, the rule of law, the economy, and education. However, it has a team that also conducts investigations, particularly on the misuse of public money. One of the most popular Shqip.com products is the show N'Shenjester, in which the team follows the public money flow allocated for public tenders. In some cases, its investigations have led to the prosecution of Kosovar officials suspected of public money misuse. In June 2022, after Shqip.com published the investigative documentary Public tenders, a tool for strengthening the party, the Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo announced they would begin investigations. One of the suspects is Kosovo's former Minister of Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj. The media outlet's primary source of funding is advertising.Currently, Shqip.com is in a phase of expanding both its products and its human resources. "We aim to increase the video production team and to add new products. Our strategy is to increase revenues through these new products," Alaj says.
