TalCual is a medium with a history of reinvention. It was born in 2000 as a printed evening newspaper, and at the same time a web portal. But due to restrictions on paper due to government control, it became a weekly newspaper while strengthening its digital platform, which became the main product when print disappeared completely. Despite the complex Venezuelan political context, we maintain the confrontational and biting editorial style of TalCual conceived by our founder Teodoro Petkoff who received the María Moors Cabot Prize (2012) and the Ortega y Gasset Prize (2015). After the death of our founder in 2018, the team has continued to promote new platforms and products to bring politics closer to the people and we have received a Special Mention from the Ipys Award 2022 and 2023.
