TechCabal is a pan‑African technology publication covering the business and human impact of innovation across the continent. Founded in 2013 by journalist Bankole Oluwafemi and owned by Big Cabal Media, it reports daily on startup funding, product launches, regulation, telecoms, and the broader digital economy, and speaks directly with the founders, operators, investors, policymakers shaping those stories, and everyday people who interact with technology. Its newsroom produces scoops, explanatory analysis, features and columns, anchored by two flagship newsletters: TC Daily, delivered on weekdays at 7:00 a.m. WAT, and The Next Wave on Sundays. Beyond journalism, TechCabal runs TechCabal Insights, a data and research unit that delivers market intelligence and custom studies for development agencies, corporates and growth‑stage startups across Africa’s digital markets. It also convenes the ecosystem through Moonshot by TechCabal, a large‑scale annual conference in Lagos. The 2024 edition drew more than 4,000 participants and 148 speakers across nine tracks; the third edition is scheduled for October 15–16, 2025. With reporters in West, East, and Southern Africa, TechCabal serves a global audience following African innovation and passed the one‑million monthly web‑users mark in 2024. In 2023, it was recognised at the StartupSouth Awards, winning Best New Media Platform (Technology), Best Startup Ecosystem Intelligence Platform (for TC Insights) and Best Startup Ecosystem Newsletter (TC Daily). Frank Eleanya, a Senior Reporter at TechCabal, was named Journalist of the Year at the Art of Technology Lagos 7.0 Conference. Through reporting, research and convenings, TechCabal has become a reference point for understanding how technology is changing business and society in Africa.
