The Cyclist is women's health platform that exists online as a website and across social media platforms Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. It was set up by Jessica Quinn, a body positive activist and Katherine Douglas, who is general manager of a pharmaceutical company and founder of a skincare brand. They realised they shared many experiences in the women's health space, including both having a diagnosis of endometriosis and both experiencing a miscarriage before eventually falling pregnant. Together they wanted to create a community where other women from around Aotearoa New Zealand could access information about these conditions and get more education generally on women's health. The Cyclist was launched in 2025, a website that includes a blog where people share their stories about their own women health experiences, from painful periods to polycystic ovarian syndrome or endometriosis. The website also hosts resources that have been created in guidance with local women's health experts, a podcast and a directory of practitioners and their location in New Zealand. Their podcast comes out once a week, and usually features a special guest or expert on a specific topic relating to women's health. The Cyclist already has a large and engaged following on Instagram, where the founders post relatable and educational content.
