Founded in 2013 by LeeAnn Neal, Kelly Benson, and Will Seymour three local media professionals with deep roots in the county the Pioneer was built on the belief that residents deserved easy, free access to local news in the emerging age of digital media. It grew to become the most widely read news source in Tillamook County, driven largely by co-founder LeeAnn Neal's tireless dedication to the community she had served as a journalist since graduating from Tillamook High School in 1988.
