The Journalistic Investigation Unit (UIP) is a digital media that develops long-term work on Human Rights and social problems in Colombia. His research is the result of data analysis, search for stories and explanations and positions from various sources. The research results are presented in creative multimedia and transmedial formats, in which aesthetics and narrative play a fundamental role. The project was born in 2015, within the Grancolombiano Polytechnic University Institution, as a commitment to contribute to the country with in-depth information on issues that should be part of the citizen and government agenda. In addition, it is a multidisciplinary learning school in which students of journalism, graphic design and audiovisual production, in recent semesters, learn by doing under the motto of doing good journalism from the academy. Between 2020 and 2024 the UIP has received the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award on two occasions in the multimedia category. On three occasions he has received the Xilópalo National Digital Journalism Award. It has a mention from the Inter-American Press Association. She has received the National Women, Peace and Security Journalism Award, and has won university journalism awards on four occasions.
