Vice Versa Global is a youth-led African media organisation that produces solutions-focused journalism and multimedia storytelling to amplify underrepresented voices across the continent. Founded in March 2021 by young African journalists and anchored by Chief Editor Eunice Mwaura, the organisation aims to shift narratives about Africa by prioritising authentic, positive and context-driven coverage of development, philanthropy, youth empowerment, culture, agriculture, health and the environment.
Its output includes in-depth features, video journalism, special-edition magazines, event coverage and curated campaigns designed to spark social dialogue and galvanise civic action. Vice Versa Global operates regional country coordinators and contributors, develops thematic storytelling platforms (for example youth- and women-focused initiatives) and organises events such as community SDG festivals and forums to connect journalism with grassroots actors.
The organisation positions itself at the intersection of journalism and social change, promoting diversity, integrity and accountability in reporting while training and elevating emerging African reporters. Vice Versa Global has been recognised for impact-focused reporting: its leadership has received awards including an Africa Media Award (2023) and an East Africa Advocate for Giving Practice media award (2024).
Targeting young audiences, development practitioners, civil-society actors and international partners, Vice Versa Global emphasises storytelling that informs policy conversations and philanthropic practice across East Africa and beyond. Distinguishing itself through youth leadership, partnerships with development networks and a mix of digital, event and magazine formats, the organisation seeks to build a more equitable public narrative about African development and social innovation.
